Bruce Brock is a seasoned veteran of the retail world, with over 30 years of experience in the retail/QSR segment. Bruce has spent the last 15 years of his career with Hungry Howie’s, working to develop the real estate and construction departments. He has worked in almost all segments of the QSR world, including operations, marketing, development, franchisee, store design and training. He has also developed over 300 locations in 22 states for two companies — and for himself — during that time.
Along the way, Bruce has taken the time to get a couple of degrees, teach a few college classes, and develop and present many seminars for ICSC, SPECS, retail/QSR companies, and others.
Bruce revealed that the best part of his career is the privilege to work a great deal with entrepreneurs. He calls this segment a "particularly odd breed of human" who, when faced with overwhelming odds, will continue to rise to the challenge and say, “ I got this.” It is this entrepeneurial gumption that encourages Bruce to work hard, and help them succeed.
When he first joined SPECS, Hungry Howie's was developing its “new” store design. The contacts and information that he was able to gather at the conference were a big part of the success of that rollout. Now that the company is working on “HH 2020,” Bruce credits his SPECS experience for helping guide him and his team as they work through the new design.
