David Carey, VP of design, construction and maintenance at Schnuck Markets, leads a team of designers, project managers and maintenance technicians. In addition to maintaining Schnucks’ current store formats,
Carey’s team is responsible for developing prototypes, standards and fixture plans utilized in the development of new stores, remodels and special projects across the organization.

With over 30 years of experience working for multiple retail and consulting organizations, including Walmart and Best Buy, Carey has developed a passion for reviewing and improving development processes as well as innovating with new retail formats.

Carey earned his bachelors of architecture from the University of Arkansas Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design.
